When IGHL was founded to provide services to people with developmental disabilities, we never envisioned that we would experience the enormous growth that has made us one of the largest agencies in New York State. The history of IGHL began with the single mission to provide the highest quality services to a population that had never been afforded their rightful stake in their own communities.

In 1996, we organized the IGHL Foundation to raise public contributions to preserve the future of our program services. The IGHL Foundation has made the public aware of our needs by presenting several public fund-raising events such as golf outings, membership drives, and the annual Spring Gala. The Foundation organizes our Planned Giving Program which allows legacies to work on behalf of our community in perpetuity. With the support of volunteers, we will continue to touch the lives of our residents forever.
